Founders Joann Boccio & Shea Bocchino come to us with a combined 40+ years of cheerleading experience and a shared passion for helping aspiring cheerleaders reach their full potential. They are both USA Cheer Members with certifications in Coaching Youth Athletes, Cheerleading Safety & Risk Management and Athlete Protection. In addition to their cheerleading background, Joann & Shea bring to Elite 30 years of corporate professionalism from the investment banking and tech industries.  ​

 

Joann, a New Jersey native, began cheerleading and competing at the age of six.  She quickly fell in love with the sport and continued cheerleading throughout high school and into the start of her college career. Most recently, Joann worked at a large investment bank, was an Assistant Coach for a local youth cheerleading program and is a Certified Nutritionist. She resides on Long Island with her husband and two daughters and is excited not only to coach her daughters, but also the amazing athletes joining our Elite family. ​

 

Shea, also a New Jesey native, began cheerleading and competing for Pop Warner at the age of seven. She followed her passion for the sport through high school and college as a D1 athlete. After college, she coached for her high school team before moving to NY.  Most recently, Shea was the Director for a local youth cheerleading program and worked at a giant tech company. She currently resides on Long Island with her husband and two daughters who will definitely be a part of our Elite family.  ​

 

At the core of Elite, we believe cheerleading to be more than just a sport. It is a platform to provide young athletes valuable life lessons through teamwork, discipline, perseverance & self-confidence. Most importantly, we are dedicated to encouraging our athletes to have fun!
